MaryJo Clark - Mixed Media and Pastel
Working in both mixed-media collage and pastel, MaryJo brings composition and design into all of her artwork pieces.
Having developed a lesson on abstract and non-objective composition for her students, MaryJo became intrigued by the arrangement of shapes, colors and textures as elements for creating unique compositional arrangements using the technique of mixed-media collage. The addition of 3-D embellishments, such as beads and tiles, provides a dimensional aspect to each design.
MaryJo’s pastel pieces provide the perfect medium to combine her love of drawing with the rich colors of the pastel pigments. The pieces depict representational imagery through a variety of subject matter.
