Kathy Rickermann - Mosaics
Kathy Rickermann has been working with mosaics for over 16 years and loves to design artwork for her own enjoyment and to create custom projects for others. Mosaic art began as a hobby and evolved to a passion. Rickermann’s first project was a mosaic coffee table, made from broken floor tile. She designed, created and sold several tile tables and later began to work with hand cut glass and other types of materials. She likes to incorporate a variety of materials in her work such as driftwood, mirror, pebbles, beads, and ceramic.
Mosaics are a form of relaxation, and way to integrate unrelated small bits into a single work of art. Her inspiration sometimes comes from a dream or photo and her love for natur, birds, flowers, cats and garden items.
Rickermann also completed a few public art projects in the area and she installed a large mosaic project in a Christian Medical Center in Guatemala. Her faith has influenced many of her projects.
