Greg Matchick - Photography
I am a self-taught, St. Louis based photographer whose images reflect my love for both travel and the outdoors. I began my photographic career in the days of film cameras and have carried over that knowledge and experience into the digital age. My film background has had a great influence on my compositional style as well as the vision I translate into my images.
Having traveled extensively in Europe for more than a decade and a half, I have acquired a large portfolio of European scenes and within the St. Louis art community I have become primarily know for these works. Yet my love for the outdoors and nature continues to drive me to explore the landscapes and natural beauty of the world around us. Thus I have a large body of work composed of nature and landscape images. I find my home state of Missouri possesses a unique beauty that is often overlooked. It is difficult to capture with the camera and is rarely seen in its splendor.
My photographs have been displayed around St. Louis in various venues, from art fairs to juried exhibits. I have been represented in several galleries in the St. Louis region and am currently a resident artist at Green Door Art Gallery in Webster Groves, Missouri. Additionally my work and articles have been published in national photography magazines and my prints in private collections around the world.
It is my desire that you enjoy sharing my vision as you view my portfolios on this website. Please remember that all images on this site are copyrighted and cannot be used without my permission. No one likes to have what they work hard for to be stolen and I ask that you treat my work as you would have someone treat your own property. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
